| Liberty Tour 2010 |
2010 is a commemorative year for the Netherlands, in this year
we celebrate 65 years of liberation.
From the 9th til the 11th of april we are organizing a large event in the
Northern part of Holland at the town called Assen (maybe you know it from the
Dutch TT), here we will organize Liberty Camp Assen, and if everything will go
as planned this will be one of the biggest military events Holland has seen to
date.
To show the public a massive ammount of re-enacters in our Historical Liberty
camp we would like to invite re-enactmentgroups from the UK and beond, to come
and join us.
Since the Northern part of Holland was liberated by the Canadians we are looking
for Canadian re-enactment groups however knowing these groups are limited we
also welcome American, and British units (Army and Airforce), and we would like
to make a special call for female re-enactment groups.
On April 10, 2010 The cavalcade of 130 vehicles came for the afternoon in Zuidveld, where the conquest of the bridge over the Orange channel was replayed. This bridge was a symbol of the struggle of the French and the Canadians to the bridges over the Orange canal. Also a historic aircraft and parachute jumps from an old Dakota DC3.
